Going forward this Blog will not only pursue passive income possibilities but also methods to live frugally but comfortably. This will also include simplicity and minimalism as they are often part of any more frugal lifestyle.
Habits control your life and often your enjoyment (or not) of it and I have several bad habits. Mindless eating and spending are top of the list.
My hope is that this Blog will keep me focused on the money part. I’ve spent many, many dozens of hours reading, watching and listening to some people who are very successful at using and managing money well. But I’ve never documented it. Now I will look again for these sources and list and comment on them here so, at the very least, I will not forget who are the names and where this knowledge resides.
A few starting points;
Mr. Money Mustache’s advice? Almost all of that is nonsense: Your current middle-class life is an Exploding Volcano of Wastefulness, and by learning to see the truth in this statement, you will easily be able to cut your expenses in half – leaving you saving half of your income. Or two thirds, or more.
My Pledge to You – I will never talk down to you or insult your intelligence. You are a smart, capable, free individual. 100% of the responsibility for your financial future is on your shoulders. And you’re up to the task! You can learn all of the skills you need to be successful! I promise not to be another angry, yelling talk-show host telling you what to do. It’s your money and you can do whatever you want with it!
Success is having everything you need and doing everything you want. It is not doing everything you need to have everything you want. If so then you do not own your things, instead your things own you.
